MITF-Israel Outdoor NEXT Cities:

Be'er Sheva
Known as the capital of the Negev Desert, Be’er Sheva is one of Israel’s fastest growing cities in Israel. Home to Ben Gurion University, Be’er Sheva has a large student population and a vibrant culture for young adults. As a result, the area around the university has a college town feel, filled with entertaining nightlife.

Be’er Sheva also has a large immigrant population and many Bedouin communities in the nearby areas. Fellows are also encouraged to volunteer with these communities based on their own background and interests, and consequently, be an even greater asset and better understand local issues of coexistence.

Beit She'an
Serving as a small and welcoming city located in the Southern Galilee, along the Jordan River Valley, Beit She’an homes a very diverse local community. It’s well known for its warmth, hospitality, and familial atmosphere.

The breathtaking scenery and national park create beautiful opportunities for Fellows to hike along the many springs that flow in the nearby valley. Fellows also receive additional programming benefits and volunteering opportunities, courtesy of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland and their longstanding relationship with their sister city, Beit She’an.

Netanya
Located only 30 minutes north of Tel Aviv, Netanya serves as a vital social and economic link between the northern and southern parts of Israel. Netanya is home to many start-ups and hi-tech companies. Immigrants make up 35% of the population, mostly coming from France and Ethiopia.

With its seemingly never-ending promenades, Netanya’s nine miles of white sand beaches, wild cliffs, and green parks rank among the most beautiful in the world. In addition to teaching English, you will work on secondary community volunteer projects for approximately three hours each week.

Rechovot
Located just south of Tel Aviv, Rechovot is a thriving city that is home to many students and young people. Rehovot’s downtown area on tree-covered Herzel St. is home to vibrant nightlife, eateries, and an outdoor shuk (market) where you can buy delicious, fresh produce. Rechovot is safe and easily accessible by trains and buses to Tel Aviv and other central locations.

With a population of 114,000, Rechovot is home to a large Ethiopian community and many Russian immigrants. This diversity makes Rehovot an ideal site for meaningful social work and a great place to truly experience life in Israel.
