Shiri Madar
CEO of Habonim Dror
Shiri Madar is the CEO of the Habonim Dror Movement, a Socialist-Zionist Jewish Youth Movement that is an integral part of the Israeli Kibbutz Movement. Habonim Dror’s founding principle is to create a framework which enables young people to educate their peers and work towards their ideological goals. Shiri has expanded the organization's mission within Masa Career, Leadership, and Volunteer programs. She works tirelessly to strengthen young Jews’ identity to enhance the connection between Israel and other diaspora communities. Shiri holds a bachelor’s degree in literature from Tel Aviv University and in Information Sciences from Beit Berel. She also earned a master’s degree with honors in Jewish studies with a thesis in Law for non-lawyers and studied for a PhD in Jewish Studies from Bar Ilan University. Since the late 1990's, Shiri managed the Emissaries Division of Habonim Dror, where she created relationships with national institutions and Jewish communities around the world. For this work, she was awarded a certificate of excellence from the CEO of the Jewish Agency, Alan Hoffman. Shiri has led new ventures and partnerships in her role as CEO for local communities such as the Hamsa, Hallelujah and Netaim projects.
